How much money will I save?
Get ready to save a lot! On average, you'd spend between €1,200 and €1,500 on disposable nappies for the entire life of your baby's pee and poo. With Poo Poo Tras, you only need to invest a maximum of €450 to have around 20 reusable nappies and all the accessories that will make your life easier. Even adding the cost of water and electricity to wash them, the savings are huge. And the best thing is that you can reuse them if a second baby comes along . Your wallet and the planet will thank you!
Why are they better for baby's skin?
Our Poo Poo Tras reusable diapers are designed with a super-absorbent fabric that keeps your baby dry, without the need for chemical gels found in disposable diapers. Plus, our materials are certified under the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, meaning they are 100% free of harmful substances. So your baby will be comfortable and protected, with less risk of irritation and diaper rash. Happy Coolet, Happy Baby!
What does it mean that all Poo Poo Tras are certified?
When we say our Poo Poo Tras are certified, we mean that they have passed very strict tests to ensure their safety. All of our nappies are certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which is the most globally recognised eco-label for textiles. This means that they have been tested for over 300 harmful substances. Our category is the most rigorous, as it is designed for babies up to 3 years old, ensuring that the nappies are as safe and gentle as possible for your baby’s delicate skin.
What's more, the recycled materials we use are Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified by Control Union , ensuring that they are sustainably produced and meet strict environmental and social criteria throughout their entire production chain. So you can relax knowing that our nappies are not only looking after your baby, but also the planet!
By purchasing poo poo after, by what PERCENTAGE does the carbon footprint decrease?
Reducing your carbon footprint is easier with Poo Poo Tras. Although the comparison is complex and depends on several factors, on average, cloth diapers can reduce the carbon footprint by 40-60% compared to disposables. This is because disposables generate large amounts of CO₂e and waste in landfills, while reusables, when properly cared for and washed efficiently (such as air drying and using cold water), are much more friendly to the planet. And if you use them for more than one baby, the positive impact is even greater!
about its use
How many Poo Poo Tras do I need to switch to sustainable diapers?
With 20-25 Poo Poo Tras you have more than enough to cover your baby's entire diaper stage , until he or she reaches the potty. And the best thing is that they are so long-lasting that they will also serve you for the next baby, if you decide to expand the family. A sustainable investment for your present and his or her future.
Are reusable diapers allowed in schools?
As the most sustainable option, no school should be against it, and they can't prohibit it by law. The only difference is that instead of throwing them away, they should store them in a used diaper bag (like our Poo Poo Tras street bag), and give them to you at the end of the day to take home.
Can I use creams on my butt while using Poo Poo Tras?
Yes, you can use diaper creams! But we'll tell you a secret: with Poo Poo Tras, your baby's skin breathes much better than with disposable diapers, since they are more ventilated and don't sweat as much, so you probably won't need them! It's like comparing a pad to a pair of menstrual panties. Based on our own experience with reusable diapers, I can tell you that I have bought a total of 0 diaper creams since my baby's diaper has always been perfect.
Can I use them with my next baby?
Of course, your Poo Poo Tras are designed to last , so if you decide to have another baby, you can reuse them without any problem. You just need to take good care of them, and they will be ready to accompany your next little one in their diaper stage.
Why do I need Poo poo bags?
Our Poo Poo Tras bags will make your life easier, mommy promises. The on-the-go bag is small and perfect for carrying dirty diapers when you're out and about, it's waterproof and odor-proof (and cute). The large bag is great for at home, where you can store dirty diapers and do a load of laundry every other day. We promise, they're your Poo Poo Tras' besties.
Can I mix disposable diapers and poo poo diapers?
Of course you can! In fact, mixed use is becoming more and more common , and I started out that way too. Every baby is unique, and nighttime peeing depends on many factors: what they eat for dinner, whether they drink milk before or during the night, etc. Each family must find what works best for them.
And yes, leaks happen, with both disposables and reusables. Our heavy flow pad has multiple layers to last all night, but if your baby is a heavy wetter (I've been through some tsunamis), it may not last 12 hours... and that's okay! The important thing is to find what makes you and your baby comfortable.
ABOUT SIZING AND FITTING
I AM GOING TO PURCHASE AND THERE ARE NO SIZES. HOW DO THEY WORK?
Don't worry about sizes, Poo Poo Tras are designed to grow with your baby! Our diapers have an evolutionary adjustment system through snaps that allow you to adjust the size from newborn to the end of the diaper stage (approximately from 3kg to 15kg). This means that one size fits all throughout the period of use , making your life much easier and more comfortable!
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE AN EVOLUTIONARY DIAPER?
Share details about your shipping policies, item returns, or customer service.
ARE THEY SUITABLE FOR NEWBORNS?
Yes, our Poo Poo Tras are suitable for newborns from 3kg! They are designed with a flexible fit that adapts to the baby's body from the first weeks. We are working to soon offer diapers specially designed for premature babies, we hope to tell you about news very soon.
How do I fit the diaper correctly?
Adjusting the Poo Poo Tras diaper is easy:
- Place the diaper : Spread out the diaper and place it under your baby. Make sure the back part reaches the waist.
- Adjust at the groin : Adjust the diaper at the groin, making sure it is positioned properly. Pull the roll of tissue out of your baby's leg outside the diaper to prevent leaks and ensure the diaper is not too tight.
- Adjust the size : Use the snaps to adjust the diaper. It should be firm around the legs and waist, but not too tight. You should be able to fit your two fingers, index and middle, between the diaper and your baby's tummy.
- Check the fit : Check that the diaper is positioned correctly and that there are no folds or areas that could cause leaks. The pit stop is over.
With these steps, you will ensure a comfortable and effective fit for your baby!
I think it's too big for you. Isn't it too bulky?
It's normal that at first, when your baby weighs just 3-4kg, the Poo Poo Tras may feel a little bulky. This is because the evolutionary design is intended to last from 3-15kg, and the fit is looser at first. However, this slight extra bulk does not affect the comfort or effectiveness of the nappy . The size and fit will improve as your baby grows!
What if my baby has red marks?
It's normal for diapers of any kind, including disposables, to leave marks, especially around the belly button. However, if you see that the marks are red, it's a sign that the diaper might be too tight. Adjust the diaper a little so that it doesn't fit so tight. Our Poo Poo Tras are designed to be comfortable and fit your baby's body well, so with a little adjustment, they should be perfect!
How do you remove REUSABLE DIAPERS?
Removing Poo Poo Tras is very easy: just undo the snaps on the sides of the nappy and gently remove it. If you have a big prize aka. poop, take it to the toilet with it (if you have put it in, use the poop catcher). Once you have removed the prize , put them in the Poo Poo Tras bag at home to wait to be washed . It's that simple! In addition, the nappies are designed to be quick and easy to put on and take off, making your daily routine easier. If you need more help, in our section on how to start you have much more information.
How do you put on poop hunters?
Poop Catchers are fine filters that will help you with everyday changes when your baby's poop is solid and splendid . Placing the Poop Catchers on the Poo Poo Tras is easy: place the Poop Catcher on the diaper, aligning it so that it covers the surface of the diaper where the baby pees and poops and squirts . It should lie flat inside the diaper, without any folds.
How do you put on pads?
Placing the pads in the Poo Poo Trash is very easy. Just follow these steps:
- Open the diaper : spread out the diaper and locate the inner pocket of the cover where the absorbent pads will go.
- Place the pads : In this pocket, place the pad or pads, making sure that they are well aligned and cover the entire surface for optimal absorption.
- Close the diaper : Once the pads are in place, adjust the diaper around your baby and secure it with the snaps.
And that's it! It's that easy to prepare Poo Poo Tras so that your baby is dry and comfortable. If you need more help, you can find much more information in our section on how to get started.
ABOUT THE FEARED LEAKS
Could there be leaks?
Our diapers are designed with a double anti-leak system in the crotch and an elastic band at the back to prevent leaks . In fact, thanks to this design, Poo Poo Tras fit better than many disposables , which considerably reduces leaks, especially when it comes to poop. Just make sure to adjust the diaper well to get the best result.
See? We're quite the catch.
What do I do to prevent leaks?
To avoid leaks with your Poo Poo Tras, follow these steps:
- Center the pooper scooper : Make sure the pooper scooper is aligned properly in the center of the diaper.
- Adjust at the groin : Place the diaper snugly at the groin, pulling the little bump on your baby's leg out of the diaper so that it fits snugly and comfortably.
- Check the fit at the waist : the diaper should fit snugly 1-2 fingers below the belly button. This ensures a good fit without putting too much pressure on it.
With these small adjustments, you will avoid leaks and your baby will be comfortable and protected!
Do they last all night?
Yes! Our heavy flow pad (4d4) is designed to last 10-12 hours without changing, making it perfect for long nights. So your baby can sleep soundly and dry all night long.
Sweet dreams guaranteed (if you're lucky and sleep well hehe)!
Is there a night absorbent?
With your Poo Poo Tras you will receive two different capacity pads: medium flow and heavy flow, depending on your baby's needs. For example, a baby a few months old can sleep all night with a medium flow pad (3d3) , while a baby over a year old will probably need the heavy flow pad (4d4) to last longer without leaks. So you'll have options for every stage!
ABOUT WASHING AND CARE
What do I do with poop?
If you use a poop scooper, simply throw the poop in the trash (as you would with a disposable diaper) or in the toilet. The material is suitable for flushing, but just as it is not advisable to throw away a lot of paper or wipes (even if they are disposable), we recommend throwing the poop in the toilet and the poop scooper in the trash, in this way we will take better care of our environment.
If you don't use a poop catcher, throw it directly down the toilet and your Poo Poo goes into its bag to wait to be washed. It's that easy!
How do you wash them?
To wash your Poo Poo Tras, follow these steps:
- Preparation : Place the pads, diapers and bags in the washing machine.
- Two washing options :
- If you have rinsed them immediately : use ecological detergent and select a wash cycle at 40ºC.
- If you haven't rinsed them : first do a short pre-wash of 15-20 minutes with water only. Then add eco-friendly detergent and run a wash cycle at 40ºC.
3. Maintenance : every 6 weeks, wash at 60ºC with an extra rinse to keep the diapers in optimal condition.
It's that easy to keep your diapers clean and fresh!
How do I put diapers with poop in the washing machine?
For diapers with liquid poop (0-6 months), simply put them in the washing machine. The pre-wash will take care of removing most of the residue, and the wash cycle will do the rest , leaving the machine clean when finished. You can run an extra rinse cycle if you prefer. And remember, the fabrics of your Poo Poo Tras are designed to handle this type of use without a problem.
For diapers with solid poop (6 months and up), remove the poop with the poop scooper, throw it down the toilet, or rinse the diaper before putting it in the washing machine. This way, your washing machine and diapers will be ready for the next use, without any hassle!
Do you have to wash them before using them?
Yes! It is important to wash them before first use. Also, with frequent washing, bamboo improves its performance , which means that the absorption will be better and better. So don't hesitate to give them a good wash before wearing them for the first time!
How often should they be washed?
We recommend washing Poo Poo Tras every 2-3 days at most. However, if you rinse the nappies after each use and leave them in a well-ventilated place to dry, you can space out washing them up to once a week. It all depends on how you organise yourselves as a family.
What detergent do I use? How much?
We are currently working on our own eco-friendly detergent (yay!). In the meantime, we recommend using a baby detergent that is as gentle as possible, preferably hypoallergenic and fragrance-free.
The amount of detergent you should use varies depending on the type:
- Concentrated detergents : approximately 30 ml should be sufficient.
- Non-concentrated detergents : you can use up to 60 ml.
It is important not to exceed the recommended amount, as too much detergent can leave residues in the diapers, affecting their absorption capacity. This will ensure the best care for your diapers.
Can I put fabric softener in it?
Absolutely not, it is not recommended. Fabric softener can affect the functioning of bamboo, reducing its absorption capacity. In addition, it is not ideal for your baby's delicate skin, so it is best to avoid it so that the diapers continue to work at 100% and your little one's skin is free of toxic and harmful substances.
Can I wash them with other clothes?
Yes! You can wash diapers together with other clothes to take advantage of the remaining space in the washing machine and save energy and water. Just make sure that diapers and clothes are not too dirty together to avoid waste transfer.
Can I use a dryer?
Yes, you can use the dryer, but at a low temperature. However, keep in mind that the less you use it, the longer the life of the diaper will be, just like with our own clothes. Air drying is always the best option!
Will my washing machine smell bad?
There shouldn't be any problem with bad smells. However, if your little nose warns you of any slight smell, you can do a regular cleaning of the washing machine every 2 months. Run an empty cycle with hot water and add white vinegar or baking soda to eliminate residues and bacteria (note, this is also recommended even if you don't wash disposable diapers, it will prolong the life of your washing machine and your clothes, tip of the day)
My diapers smell bad, what should I do?
If your diapers have never had a smell before and suddenly they smell very strong (like ammonia), it is probably due to an excess of soap build-up. To fix this, wash them at 60ºC with water only, without detergent.
On the other hand, if your diapers smell musty, they may have been stored before they were completely dry. Make sure they are thoroughly dry before storing them to avoid unpleasant odors. This will keep your diapers fresh and ready to use!
ABOUT DISPOSABLE DIAPERS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER
What are disposable diapers made of?
Disposable diapers are usually made from a blend of synthetic materials. The outer layer is made from plastic or polyethylene to prevent leaks, while the inner layer contains wood pulp and super absorbent polymers (SAP) that turn liquid into gel. They may also include fragrances and odor control chemicals. While they are convenient, their materials are not so kind to the environment or your baby's skin!
How many disposable diapers does a baby use?
A baby can use between 4,000 and 6,000 disposable diapers in their first 2.5 years. That's a real ocean of diapers! With our Poo Poo Tras reusable diapers, you can say goodbye to that ocean of waste and give your baby a more sustainable and environmentally friendly option.
How long does it take for a disposable diaper to degrade?
A disposable diaper can take between 200 and 500 years to degrade in a landfill (shocks, right?). With so many synthetic materials and chemicals, they decompose very slowly, and during that time, they release toxic substances into the environment. With this data, you probably won't mind doing a couple more loads of laundry a day to opt for a greener alternative!
But by doing so much laundry, isn't it negatively affecting the environment?
It’s normal to ask yourself this question, and it’s true that reusable diapers require washing, but still, the comparison plays in our favor. By using our Poo Poo Tras, you can reduce your carbon footprint by 40-60% compared to disposable diapers. Although washing uses energy and water, the overall impact of disposable diapers—their production, transportation, and disposal—is much higher. Plus, by washing at a low temperature and air drying, you can further minimize the impact.
